"The first stage of higher consciousness is the state of equilibrium where neither praise inflates you nor slander depresses you. You may love the praise but you offer it at the altar of your Creator. You may dislike slander but you offer it at the altar of your Creator. A person who lives in this state is super-sensitive, therefore is grateful. This attitude of gratitude makes a person great."

i point at the sky and am
happy thanks giving
for
funny old people
sensitive children
talking without thinking
for a warm heart
for reckless abandon and injuries
for hugs and kisses on the hurt
for a reminding of a place that doesnt age
for my garden
for a burn yourself red hot shower, a soft clean fluffy towel and clean sheets

spaced posting this in sept...
- i made these railings solo with my employer 3 years ago and look! they showed up in the Hamptons Cottages and Gardens September 09 issue...
- The very left hand star marks a railing section that is about 25' long. It was all bolted together minus the mesh paneling in the middles of the frame. We came so close to dropping it over the side of the house when we were installing it... The roof is a garden patio on the second story and while the two of us were trying to fit the frame onto its corresponding feet, (note: i am tiny) the railing sections started to pitch over the side of the house. I was like 'peace! I aint goin with it!' and let go but my employer held on (his money) and bit by bit we hoisted the thing back upright... ha! good times...

- "We must learn to reawaken and keep ourselves awake. Not by mechanical aids but by an infinite expectation of the dawn... I know of no more encouraging fact than the unquestionable ability of man to elevate his life by conscious endeavor. It is something to be able to paint a particular picture, or carve a statue, and so to make a few objects beautiful but it is far more glorious to carve the very atmosphere and medium through which we look... To affect the quality of the day, that is the highest of arts. Every man is tasked to make his life, even in its details, worthy of the contemplation of his most elevated and critical hour..."
